East Bay District

Overview

Located on downtown Olympia's waterfront, East Bay is a redeveloped and revitalized area that formerly served industrial uses. It is home to the Hands on Children's Museum and the East Bay Public Plaza and the LOTT Clean Water Alliance and Water Education Center. The district is a result of a public partnership of the Port of Olympia, City of Olympia, LOTT Clean Water Alliance and Hands on Children's Museum, as well as a close working relationship with the Washington Dept. of Ecology. The East Bay District consists of 9 parcels and totals 13.3 acres.

Westman Mill Development Project

In January of 2017 the Port Commission voted unanimously to authorize the Executive Director to enter into a ground lease and option agreement with 3rd Gen Investments, LLC, for the development of a 64,937 sf mixed use commercial and residential building, referred to as the Westman Mill development project.

On October 26, 2017 the Port's Executive Director met with members of the public interested in the Westman Mill development project currently proposed.  At the conclusion of the meeting, Executive Director Galligan promised follow up responses to a member of the public who participated.  The following document is the Port's response to those questions.
