Welcoming Vessel Arrivals to the Port of Olympia

Overview

The Port of Olympia’s marine terminal has played an important role in the South Sound’s economy since the formation of the Port in 1922. As the southernmost port in Puget Sound, the 66-acre breakbulk/container yard terminal has three deepwater berths with a total of 1,750 lineal feet, a 140-tonne Gottwald mobile harbor crane, an on-dock 76,000 sqft open beam warehouse, and an on-dock rail service served by both UPRR and BNSF.

Railcar Specs, Service Information & Flatcar Details

The Port of Olympia has over 11,000 feet of track, including on-dock rail and a loop track. In addition, the Port owns four high capacity flatcars to maneuver cargoes to/from vessels and around the terminal. Rail service is provided by the Union Pacific and BNSF railroads with switching services provided by the Olympia and Belmore Railroad, Inc.
