Title: Business Development Coordinator
As a military dependent, Kim Kawada moved every few years while growing up. Her PNW roots included living and going to school in Washington before moving to Subic Bay, Philippines, where she graduated from high school. After graduation, Kim moved back to attend Central Washington University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a minor in Business and Professional Communications. Kim has also completed two Master’s Certificates in both Sales and Marketing through Cornell University.
Kim’s career in the industry began shortly after graduating from college where she managed the yard inventory for one of the Port of Olympia’s longstanding tenants, Holbrook Inc. After 10 years with Holbrook, Kim joined the Port team in 1999 to coordinate yard and vessel operations. Today Kim’s role as the Business Development Coordinator for the Seaport allows her an even greater opportunity to build relationships with the Port’s tenants, industry partners and future customers.
In her off hours, Kim enjoys spending time with family and friends, travel and running marathons.
