Rudy Rudolph, A.A.E.
Interim Executive Director
Experienced and Trusted Leader Working Across the Port’s Aviation and Maritime Divisions
Robert (Rudy) Rudolph, A.A.E., serves as the Port’s Interim Executive Director. He previously served as the Port’s Operations Director, and the Airport Director at the Olympia Regional Airport for 18 years beginning in 2004. He is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) with 38 years of increasingly responsible aviation management experience and 28 years in airport management that includes the full range of aviation and airport issues. In 2005 and 2018, he also served as the Interim Executive Director for the Port of Olympia.
Rudy served as the State Aviation Administrator for the Ohio Department of Transportation from 1997-2004, responsible for implementing policy and program development for the statewide Ohio Airport System of 170 public-use airports. Additionally, Rudolph was Chief Operating Officer for the fixed-wing & helicopter flight department operating and maintaining 27 multi-agency state aircraft.
Prior to joining the State of Ohio, Rudy was the Director of the Airport Noise Program at the Baltimore/Washington International Airport. There he administered and enforced Maryland State Land Use Planning Regulations and served as the Maryland Aviation Administration liaison for the Airport Zoning Board, Airport Commission, and elected officials.
Rudy was a pilot/flight engineer for Pan American World Airways from 1989-1991. He has extensive U. S. Navy experience, serving twenty-years as a Naval Officer and aviator, flying both carrier-based and transport aircraft.
