Olympia, WA — The Port of Olympia is rescheduling the March 27 Town Hall with Executive Director Alex Smith because of illness.
The newly appointed executive director was expected to spend an hour with community members, answering questions and sharing her vision and approach. Smith and other key staff are not able to attend because of illnesses.
“Connecting with our community is a priority for me. It’s unfortunate we have to reschedule,” said Smith. “I was looking forward to this opportunity to hear directly from people and learn about what’s on their mind.”
According to Taber Lee, Port of Olympia’s communications and marketing senior manager, there was a lot of excitement building in the community around this event.
“We appreciate the understanding and support of our community during this time as we realize the significance of this town hall and the excitement it has generated among our community,” said Lee. “Rest assured, we are committed to delivering a valuable and informative town hall experience once a new date is determined.”
Further updates regarding the rescheduled Executive Director Town Hall will be shared as soon as possible.
