We will hold our second webinar Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 5-6 p.m. The webinar is part of a series of public participation events to include the community in our master plan for the Port Peninsula.  The master plan will integrate environmental efforts, such as the Budd Inlet cleanup and sea level rise resilience needs and will also consider the Deschutes Estuary restoration. This work will be built on the concepts from the Port’s Vision 2050 and Destination Waterfront plans.

What we will cover

In our August webinar, we talked about the operations and mission of the Port, explained the purpose and goals of the master plan and Budd Inlet cleanup, and shared some of the upcoming public involvement opportunities we have planned so far.

In this webinar we are excited to share information about areas of the Port Peninsula the master plan will evaluate, which include the marine terminal, our Swantown marina and Boatworks facility, land use for open spaces and the Budd Inlet cleanup project. The webinar will also be interactive with multiple opportunities for participants to share their ideas and input.

“We have already received a lot of great feedback and ideas from the community in terms of what is important to them, and it has been helpful in steering our planning efforts in the right direction. We want to continue to share updates and to give the community as many opportunities to get involved in the planning process as possible,” said Port Commissioner Bob Iyall. “Community involvement is critical to developing a shared vision for the Port Peninsula, not only for the near future, but for several decades to come.”
