The Port of Olympia would like to notify community members of increased helicopter activity scheduled for Saturday, March 22, through Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
The increased activity will be most noticed during the hours of 9 am until 4 pm each day. However, additional activity will take place on the evening of Sunday, March 23, from 6 pm to 8 pm. This is the second week of three separate weeks of scheduled helicopter activity. The days and hours may vary slightly due to unforeseen weather delays. This increase in helicopter activity is due to the required annual recertification training that Department of Natural Resources (DNR) helicopter pilots must complete each year in preparation for the firefighting season. The training is time-sensitive and requires significant coordination for DNR to be prepared on time each year.
