The Port of Olympia would like to notify community members of increased helicopter activity scheduled for Monday, April 28, through Friday, May 2, at Olympia Regional Airport.
The increased activity will be most noticeable from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The days and hours may vary slightly due to unforeseen weather delays. This increase in helicopter activity is due to the required annual recertification training that the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) helicopter pilots must complete each year in preparation for the firefighting season. The training is time sensitive and requires significant coordination for DNR to be prepared on time each year.
