Warren Hendrickson serves the Port of Olympia as the Director of Operations, having initially joined the Port team as Airport Senior Manager in July 2022. Reporting to the Executive Director, he oversees and is responsible for the performance of the Port’s four business units: Marine Terminal, Harbor (including the Swantown Marina and Boatworks), Olympia Regional Airport, and Real Estate.

Warren brings 50 years of operational, leadership, and management experience to his position – covering the organizational gamut from military to corporate to non-profit to public agency sectors. He served as a military instructor pilot for the U.S. Air Force and Arizona Air National Guard, as a commercial airline pilot for Delta Air Lines and Cargo 360, and as the 747 Fleet Manager for Boeing. He chaired a Pierce County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity and serves on the Board of the Turn Point Lighthouse Preservation Society in the San Juan Islands. Before coming to the Port of Olympia, he was the Pierce County airport planner, the Washington Airport Management Association Executive Director, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association Regional Manager, and most recently the Port of Bremerton’s Director of Airport & Industrial Facilities.

In addition to his daily responsibilities, Warren serves as the Vice-President of the Washington State Aviation Alliance – an organization devoted to legislative advocacy on behalf of Washington state general aviation. That position resulted in his 2019 appointment to the state’s Commercial Aviation Coordinating Commission (CACC), which he served as Chair.

His personal approach and values are centered on engagement, collaboration, volunteerism, and servant leadership. Warren is an active general aviation pilot and aircraft owner. He and his wife Dianne reside in Olalla, WA.
