Vision Statement
Through continual improvement in practices and stewardship, become an environmentally sustainable Port for current and future generations.
Responsibilities
The Port of Olympia strives to operate and develop our facilities in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner while adhering to our overall mission of providing economic benefits to the citizens of Thurston County.

Our environmental programs include:
  • Implementation of best management practices and ongoing improvement of our marine terminal stormwater management program
  • Incorporation of sustainable practices, such as recycling of materials and energy and water conservation in Port operations
  • Partnerships with our tenants to improve environmental practices at the Port
  • Remediation of historic industrial contamination to benefit the environment, facilitate redevelopment and improve cargo efficiency
Goal
Our goal is to deliver Port services and improve our facilities while meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements. We look forward to improved collaboration with the community and our customers as we assume a leadership role in the environmental stewardship of our publicly owned properties in Budd Inlet and Tumwater.
