As the Port of Olympia’s Communications and Marketing Senior Manager, Taber Lee oversees a creative and dedicated team that leads all communication and marketing activities across the Port’s four business units: Marine Terminal, Swantown Marina & Boatworks, Olympia Regional Airport, and Real Estate. Additionally, Taber leads the charge for the port’s public relations, outreach, and social media efforts. 

As a motivated, energetic, and forward-thinking leader in marketing and communications, Taber has extensive experience in rapidly evolving environments, while consistently delivering superior outcomes despite limited ramp-up time and resource constraints. Taber is a high-performing executive with a drive for success and a strategic approach to achieving goals.

With a strong background in public relations, communications, marketing and branding, Taber has successfully developed and implemented comprehensive communication strategies that have elevated the Port of Olympia’s brand and increased its visibility. His ability to craft compelling narratives and engage diverse audiences has been instrumental in promoting the port’s services, initiatives, and achievements.

Throughout Taber’s career, from B2B sales, marketing agency consulting and broadline distribution, he has excelled in building and optimizing teams, streamlining organizational processes, and developing effective communication and marketing strategies. Taber’s expertise lies in maximizing results while fostering a positive company culture and building lasting relationships. A true creative with an entrepreneurial spirit, always seeking innovative solutions to drive success. 

Prior to joining the Port of Olympia, Taber held key positions working with and for various global Fortune 500 and private midsize companies, independent agencies, nonprofits, and startup organizations where he honed his skills in strategic planning, communication, marketing, branding, events, and stakeholder management. His ability to navigate complex situations and effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders has earned him a reputation as a trusted advisor and a go-to person for communication and marketing strategies.
